Presence

A moment that is now,

Quieting a heart,

Heart pumping, miraculously,

Feel my blood carrying the oxygen of life,

Breathing, gasps of air turned into life,

Feeding my body, full of glorious senses.

Eyes peer out into a colorful world,

Seeing close and far, processing pictures of His glory,

Into memories to be stored for another day,

Reliving the beauty of this moment.

Listening to the silence,

How is it when it is total,

The power of listening and understanding,

His Word all around us, enveloping love with each soft breadth.

If only I could talk His Words alone,

Remove these cluttered ramblings from my world,

And answer His call with deeds and speech,

That He may say,

You are my son, with whom I am well pleased.

The Hinge of Desire

Grasping at each moment of interconnectedness,

Holding it close,

Understanding it’s grace,

And importance.

A heart smiles broadly,

And fills itself with life giving blood.

The bliss of human love is superseded by the shared love of God.

And glimpsed for many, coupled peace-filled instants.

PAUSE FOR 15 SECONDS

Only to be interrupted by a self, asking for more.

Unsatisfied with perfect love, even when felt,

It goads the mind,

To overcome the heart,

And move somewhere where control dominates once more.

To  fill a world with self-centered desire,

Which has no goodness, love or relation to others.

Only destruction of self and relation with God.

Pulling Together

Sometimes, we are unified by purpose,

By a morality,

For a common good,

Led by thoughts emanating from our community hearts,

Full of a love,

Which rejects a world where man dominates.

But rather recognizes its source.
