Openings … Sofa Time

Lying quietly on the sofa, the artist is finished.

A restful time, not motionless, but somehow, still.

Consider what projects need doing, a busy life,

Perhaps needs calming in an ocean breeze.

A day off in the sunshine would be nice.

“When he finished speaking with them, he put a veil over his face.”

Gospel of Matthew

Openings … Another Night in a Mid-West Town

Overnight again, strange hotel room, the lights are out.

I lay resting, then suddenly, darkness snuggles me to sleep,

2:00 am CST disturbed, I stumble in the dark, looking for water,

I should turn the lights on, but enjoy the darkness and wonder of where I am.

There I AM, stumbling, trusting and relying in a small way, that I will find what I seek.

“Whoever has ears ought to hear.”

Gospel of Matthew

Openings … My Guardian Mosquito

My Guardian Mosquito never leaves my side,

Always there to correct my path needed for everyday things,

lovingly annoying as my ear buzzes with immediate sounds of wants of the day,

as a Spitfire chasing a Messerschmitt, the desire to complete a mission is loud.

Martha can relax in the knowledge that love is paramount over all else.

“Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things.”

Gospel of Luke
