REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 3 DECEMBER 2012

The centurion shows us how faith really should be. Knowing that his servant would be healed just with by the Word of Jesus is all he needed. Give me the strength to live by God’s Word the same way.

Not only does our faith renew us, but it makes the Lord rejoice and delight. See how Jesus tells others of the importance and beauty of that faith. Wouldn’t we like Him to be pleased with our faith in Him.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 1 DECEMBER 2012

Gospel Lk 21:34-36

Our day to day lives sometimes drown out or obscure the time we need to communicate and contemplate God. These distractions have a tendency to pile up, until we become totally tuned out to God’s message. I pray that today, I may keep the channel that is tuned to God open and that His love may be reflected in my actions and deeds.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 30 NOVEMBER 2012

Gospel Mt 4:18-22

Jesus calls us in many ways. Firstly to follow Him, directly and immediately. Notice the apostles did not languish or deliberate; they came when He called them. I wish I always made that call when faced with options during my day. To always take His way, to always follow His will.

Then He calls us in other ways too. It’s not enough for us to follow Him in silence, we have to bring others along the way. We too are called to be “fishers of men”. Sowing the seeds of The Word and His enduring love to others. Let me not have a silent day today. Let me proclaim His Word with some act or deed that says “I am a disciple.”
