REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL AND READINGS 4 SEPTEMBER 2012

Today’s reading from 1 Corinthians talk about the wisdom of the Holy Spirit, versus man-made wisdom. It is really important for us to make that discernment, as there are many today that believe strongly in their own wisdom; and some of them represent this as God’s wisdom. Keeping ourselves in a spiritual mindset will ensure we don’t make this mistake and keep us ever closer to God.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 3 SEPTEMBER 2012

Today Jesus starts his ministry and it does not go well for him. His message is rejected because those in the synagogue who think Jesus is “the son of Mary and Joseph” and not “The Son of God”. He speaks with the authority, but those in charge are not willing to listen.

How many times will his message fall on deaf ears, be misunderstood, and be rejected?

Now that he paid the price for our redemption, we will remain open to His ministry, His words, His deeds and His everlasting love for us all.

Let us not tune out his words today, but rather listen attentively and lovingly for his direction in our lives.
