REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 27 JUNE 2012

Understanding who is mediating God’s Word faithfully and those who are not goes back to the time of Moses who is shown as the model of a true prophet clearly mediating the Word of God to his people. There are many today, who coopt the Word of God for their own purposes, and make strong arguments against those that disagree with them.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 26 JUNE 2012

It seems it is easy to miss “the narrow gate” that today’s Gospels talks of. Yesterday I rose to the bait of someone who seems to enjoy berating her customers, just couldn’t take her rude remarks one more time, so I chastised her in public. I didn’t feel better for it, just irritated that she had roused anger in me. I will try harder to walk through the narrow gate today. Now I am wondering what is wrong in her life that she treats people this way every day. She suddenly seems very sad.
