REFLECTION ON THE VISITATION OF MARY TO ELIZABETH

clip_image001

The image of Mary and Elizabeth celebrating their pregnancies brings us what we want in our own lives. A flood of hope for the future. The joy of creation and the love of these mothers to be give us the hope we need for the future. Their faith and anticipation is really “what the world needs now”. As they hold each other in this most sacred of sacred moments, we can be the vessel that God wants us to be. Mary’s faith and obedience made her a chosen one to carry the child Jesus into our lives to save us. Jesus, after His sacrifice and mission wants us to hold Him inside us.

To have that same joy on the faces of Mary and Elizabeth as they shared the news the day of the Visitation. Feel Him with you right now. In each moment of the day, in each action, in each word and deed. Savor each breadth as you pass through this day.

REFLECTION ON JESUS’S GOSPEL ON HOW YOU TREATED OTHERS MT: 25-31 18 FEBRUARY 2013

Recently I received news that someone I have known well in recent years has cancer. He may not have long to live. This man has spent much of his life in prison. In these years, he has spent much time mentoring young men to bring them to a better life, a new life, through The Lord.

God operates in and through all the places that there is great suffering and human need. Now that this man is making it through the latter days of his life, let him reflect on the love that God has bestowed on him, and thank God for the close relationship he now has with Him.

We are being called to operate in all the places, even outside our comfort zone, let us answer this call in whatever way we are able this day, and not leave it for another day that is “more convenient”. We can start with the people we work with each day.
