REFLECTION ON JESUS HEALING THE BLEEDING WOMAN AND OTHERS 5 FEBRUARY 2013

The healings of the woman and the resurrection of the 12 year old girl represent the power the Son of God has over life, and the future healing we can expect from an eternal life with Him. Faith is required to follow Him and both the synagogue official and the bleeding woman had such faith.

Look how she is desperate to touch Him and is assured of her healing as a result. How many of us need to reach out and touch Jesus today? Let us do that right now in a quiet moment that we find this space to meditate on Him.

REFLECTION ON JESUS HEALING THE MAN WITH THE WITHERED HAND 23 JANUARY 2013

MAN WITH WITHERED HAND

Jesus shows us that sometimes our good deeds will result in our persecution. Those that judge (in this case the Pharisees), will ultimately be judged themselves. So we have to try and live out our Christian life as much as possible, and rely God to respond to us generously to our faith. By showing his power on the Sabbath, Jesus added to the list of reasons why the Pharisees wanted to “get rid of him”.
He clearly differentiated, through this miracle, who He was and his ability to heal and forgive sin.

Reflection on Mark 1:21-28 Jesus removes the unclean spirits

The removal of an unclean spirit in the synagogue must have been a sight to behold. Jesus was not just teaching, but teaching with authority. They were both amazed and fearful of their fate as they knew they were in the presence of someone sent from God the Father of the Old Testament.
Quieting down the spirits that provide temptation in our lives, that move us away from God and towards another is something to reflect on for the day. We can see the healing touch of Jesus on the man in the picture. Let us be the man healed today.
