Openings … Freewheeling

Cycling through my life, I see,

Flat tires of distractions,

and that wondrous moment, gazing from the top of a climbed hill,

and notice all things given to us need maintenance.

Note to self: add time freewheeling downhill to recharge.

“The earth has yielded its fruits;”

Psalm 67

The Wordless Search

Staring into the blackness, thoughts extinguish themselves,

as embers to charcoal, invisible in the dark.

A soul prays the prayer of no words, pleading for signs,

              throwing out daily turbulence.

Out of the darkness, shapes emerge,

                first unrecognizable, then taking form.

Distractions, sins, temptations, possessions, desires, things of no import, golden calves,

all gathered up and gently carried to His door.

Returned goods welcomed with forgiveness and love,

and more journeys are made, back into dazzling darkness,

Searching for it which must be returned, each trip a little lighter,

                   in order to drink from the Chalice of peace and love again;

And to rest In Him.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 1 DECEMBER 2012

Gospel Lk 21:34-36

Our day to day lives sometimes drown out or obscure the time we need to communicate and contemplate God. These distractions have a tendency to pile up, until we become totally tuned out to God’s message. I pray that today, I may keep the channel that is tuned to God open and that His love may be reflected in my actions and deeds.
