Reflection on Mark 1:21-28 Jesus removes the unclean spirits

The removal of an unclean spirit in the synagogue must have been a sight to behold. Jesus was not just teaching, but teaching with authority. They were both amazed and fearful of their fate as they knew they were in the presence of someone sent from God the Father of the Old Testament.
Quieting down the spirits that provide temptation in our lives, that move us away from God and towards another is something to reflect on for the day. We can see the healing touch of Jesus on the man in the picture. Let us be the man healed today.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 4 JUNE 2012

We can expect rejection in our own lives. This should not prevent us from defending what we believe to be true.

Jesus was rejected in his own time. Even the earlier Old Testament prophets who were sent in advance to proclaim a monotheistic God as the one and only true God–were beaten and killed. Finally when God the Father sent his Son he met the same fate, but the result was not death, but life itself. Everlasting life.
