Jesus reveals his relationship with the Father and his rejected by the Jews who were listening. They plan to kill him for blasphemy against God and the prophets of the Old Testament, they are not listening for the Word, and so Christ knew he was to hide from them until his time had come. We can expect similar misunderstandings and persecution to occur as his Word is revealed today.

Let us all accept the blessings and wishes of the Lord as obediently and lovingly as Our Blessed Mary ever Virgin. It is almost impossible to imagine this submission to God’s will, but it is good to remember that we are being asked to do the same, just in different ways in our lives.

The love of God proceeds from the Father to the Son and in us daily through the Holy Spirit. The mystery of the Trinity is unfathomable. But we can recognize God’s triumphant and limitless love for us as he gave his Son to show us the light in our lives. We can do nothing without God and everything with him.
