Openings … Sorrow

The word can make you lament for past acts or words.

those which hurt others for no good reason,

is there ever a good reason?

Let me feel sorrow for those I have wronged.

And enjoy forgiveness received and yet to come.

“As you enter a house, wish it peace.”

Gospel of Matthew

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 8 OCTOBER 2012

Truly loving your neighbor and treating them with mercy is a call that is sometimes hard to endure. When someone needs help and you are in a position to give it, that’s easier. When someone treats you harshly for no good reason, it’s more difficult to be merciful. However, it is precisely at these times that we are tested. Pray that the Lord gives us the wisdom and the mercy at the same time to make each instance a learning opportunity, one to move closer to Him.
