REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 26 JULY 2012

How often in life do we consider something seen but not understood? Hearing something, but not listening. We may miss the opportunity by “not being open”. I think the Gospel today is asking us to be “open”, to be ready when we see something, so we can perceive it’s meaning, our call to action. If we have already made our mind up about everything then all anyone is going to get out of us is a self-assured opinion. I try not to operate this way anymore, but certainly had a long period in my life where self-assurance and certitude blocked out my vision and openness to the Lord. Perhaps my eyesight is improving slightly.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 3 MAY 2012

Are there more beautiful words than those in the Gospel today? “I am the way and the truth and the life.” Jesus gives the details of who He is and how he wants us to behave. Do all things in Jesus’s name and the reward will be both here and in eternity.

Those who have been selected to deliver the message should be listened to. We all have that mission as Christians.

Those that don’t reject not just the messenger, but the Lord Jesus Christ and his heavenly Father.

There is a warning in the Gospel today for those that don’t do so.
