Openings … The Vestibule

The Vestibule

Brighter than bright, the light of creation, streams from the doorway,

Beckoning union, feet bare and unworthy draw me,

a stranger guides me on the now darkened path.

Without choice, I emerge from the darkness, all behind me,

Like it never happened, but it did, beautifully and perfectly.

The Ending, this time not a glimpse of the house, but an invitation,

His hand reaches out from the vestibule, robes and sandal visible,

takes me inside and I leave my companion behind.

I enter His presence.

Finality. All vocabulary worthless now.

As the man turns back into the darkness searching for souls.

“Come with joy into the presence of the Lord.”

Psalm 100

THE START

From those first cries as you took that breath,

your response to God’s invitation to planet earth.

The parent’s joy of your creation cannot be equaled; at least not here,

the gift of your life, each breadth, every act can now be savored, if not understood by all.

Today is The Day to celebrate that life you live and all the days preceding,

each one as fresh as the first, but now packed full to the brim with memories from all the others.

Lovingly stored for you to taste, care for and understand, while God holds you through each moment,

knowing that you are present, in His loving arms today and eternally.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 30 APRIL 2012

When you hear others calling you to the fold, which fold are they inviting you in. The gate that Jesus talks of where The Good Shepherd will be there to protect you, or is it some other worldly invitation of praise, or glory for you own purposes. Listen attentively to the difference, as some will disguise themselves carefully to appear to be from the Lord, and are in fact the robber Jesus talks of to his disciples.
