REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 10 DECEMBER 2012

Gospel Lk 5:17-26

For those witnessing these miracles, there must have been a tremendous change of heart. Particularly those who were skeptical of Jesus and His teaching. The miracle of the curing of the paralytic was indeed wondrous, however, the real meaning here is the authority of God. All present knew that only God could make such a thing possible, so their awe was for knowing that God had made this happen. He was amongst them. He is amongst us.

Gospel Lk 1:26-38

The mystery of the Immaculate Conception of Mary is a wonder. Her acceptance of her servant role as mother of God and the entire unknown (to her) associated with that is also amazing for a young Jewish virgin girl.

Let us bask in that mystery and admire her courage, love and acceptance of the will of God. Whatever that may bring.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 4 DECEMBER 2012

Gospel Lk 10:21-24

The purity of a child’s heart and the love of their parents are borne out this scripture reading. The revelation of God the Father and the relationship between Jesus and His Father is wondrous in this passage, and that the revelation continues through the Holy Spirit each day of our lives. Perhaps we should ponder for a moment on the beauty of The Trinity revealed through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
