REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 12 DECEMBER 2012 THE VISITATION

The image of Mary and Elizabeth celebrating their pregnancies brings us what we want in our own lives. A flood of hope for the future. The joy of creation and the love of these mothers to be give us the hope we need for the future. Their faith and anticipation is really “what the world needs now”. As they hold each other in this most sacred of sacred moments, we can be the vessel that God wants us to be. Mary’s faith and obedience made her a chosen one to carry the child Jesus into our lives to save us. Jesus, after His sacrifice and mission wants us to hold Him inside us. To have that same joy on the faces of Mary and Elizabeth as they shared the news the day of the Visitation. Feel Him with you right now. In each moment of the day, in each action, in each word and deed. Savor each breadth as you pass through this day.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 8 DECEMBER 2012

Gospel Lk 1:26-38

The mystery of the Immaculate Conception of Mary is a wonder. Her acceptance of her servant role as mother of God and the entire unknown (to her) associated with that is also amazing for a young Jewish virgin girl.

Let us bask in that mystery and admire her courage, love and acceptance of the will of God. Whatever that may bring.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 5 DECEMBER 2012

Gospel Mt 15:29-37

It is amazing to see the miracles that seem to occur around us in our lives. Just our creation itself is a miracle, our children, our friends, the blessings of a job to support ourselves, the opportunity to help others.

We don’t need to win the lottery to be happy, or to witness the healings of Jesus’s mission. His love is enough. Let us look around our lives today and see what we should be grateful for, and the blessings we have here today.
