Openings … Instant Gratification

Instant gratification or the desire for immediate pleasure

Meryl Streep in Postcards from the Edge

“I don’t have the patience for it”

Sadly sums up much of an earlier life

Let me now embrace humility and love and gain … everything.

“one’s life does not consist of possessions”

Gospel of Luke

Openings … My Guardian Mosquito

My Guardian Mosquito never leaves my side,

Always there to correct my path needed for everyday things,

lovingly annoying as my ear buzzes with immediate sounds of wants of the day,

as a Spitfire chasing a Messerschmitt, the desire to complete a mission is loud.

Martha can relax in the knowledge that love is paramount over all else.

“Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things.”

Gospel of Luke

Openings … Noticing and Love

I awake to the deafening sound of nothing.

What it this that surrounds me?

Yet another day, daylight and chores, work to be done,

lawns to be cut, cars to be washed?

Or am I surrounded by love on this Sunday of mine and I notice.

“For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”

Gospel of Luke
