REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 3 SEPTEMBER 2012

Today Jesus starts his ministry and it does not go well for him. His message is rejected because those in the synagogue who think Jesus is “the son of Mary and Joseph” and not “The Son of God”. He speaks with the authority, but those in charge are not willing to listen.

How many times will his message fall on deaf ears, be misunderstood, and be rejected?

Now that he paid the price for our redemption, we will remain open to His ministry, His words, His deeds and His everlasting love for us all.

Let us not tune out his words today, but rather listen attentively and lovingly for his direction in our lives.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 2 FEBRUARY 2012

Mary and Joseph recognized the Jewish law of the time to bring an offering to the temple in accordance with the tradition. They recognized the importance of the tradition when raising Jesus amongst his chosen people. This was perhaps the first time he was recognized as the Anointed One. Two thousand years later, we still have to ensure that others recognize him, that is our mission now.
