REFLECTION ON THE HEALING OF SIMON’S MOTHER IN LAW 16 JANUARY 2013

The physical curing of Simon’s mother in law and many others were miracles proving Jesus’s supernatural power. However, it is the restoration of the health of our souls by moving towards Him that we can receive this gift every day of our lives. Notice in this picture she moves her hands out towards Him, her eyes transfixed on his face. Imagine we could look into the face of God in our everyday lives, and be like the others in this painting, adoring and basking in His glory with love.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 10 DECEMBER 2012

Gospel Lk 5:17-26

For those witnessing these miracles, there must have been a tremendous change of heart. Particularly those who were skeptical of Jesus and His teaching. The miracle of the curing of the paralytic was indeed wondrous, however, the real meaning here is the authority of God. All present knew that only God could make such a thing possible, so their awe was for knowing that God had made this happen. He was amongst them. He is amongst us.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 5 DECEMBER 2012

Gospel Mt 15:29-37

It is amazing to see the miracles that seem to occur around us in our lives. Just our creation itself is a miracle, our children, our friends, the blessings of a job to support ourselves, the opportunity to help others.

We don’t need to win the lottery to be happy, or to witness the healings of Jesus’s mission. His love is enough. Let us look around our lives today and see what we should be grateful for, and the blessings we have here today.
