Pope Francis reminds us that he is our servant asking for our prayers, in silence before he proffers the Papal blessing on the crowds and millions watching him. He takes the simplicity of the St. Francis of Assisi and in a few moments reminds the world of our mission in the Church.
It is a day to be proud to be a Catholic and one where soon, we will be reminded again of the important of a life of simplicity, of service and of dedication to God in everyday life. Perhaps we can look forward to others noticing once again that through these good works what it really means to be a Catholic.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 30 NOVEMBER 2012
Gospel Mt 4:18-22
Jesus calls us in many ways. Firstly to follow Him, directly and immediately. Notice the apostles did not languish or deliberate; they came when He called them. I wish I always made that call when faced with options during my day. To always take His way, to always follow His will.
Then He calls us in other ways too. It’s not enough for us to follow Him in silence, we have to bring others along the way. We too are called to be “fishers of men”. Sowing the seeds of The Word and His enduring love to others. Let me not have a silent day today. Let me proclaim His Word with some act or deed that says “I am a disciple.”
REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 22 SEPTEMBER 2012
Hearing requires attention. We have to tune out the noise of everyday and listen to the voice of God. It may be present in many different ways, attentive listening and prayer will bring that voice from silence to whispering, from whispering to a beautiful song. I pray I may hear His voice today.
