The love of God proceeds from the Father to the Son and in us daily through the Holy Spirit. The mystery of the Trinity is unfathomable. But we can recognize God’s triumphant and limitless love for us as he gave his Son to show us the light in our lives. We can do nothing without God and everything with him.

This event perhaps more than most represents the birth of Christianity on earth. John the Baptist proclaims Jesus, baptizes him, then the Holy Spirit descends on Jesus. The Trinity is exposed for the first time, and the beauty of what is to come is readied.

Jesus as God is revealed to others by John the Baptist as the Lamb of God. The Trinity is also proclaimed as Jesus is sent by the Father and the Holy Spirit is present at the baptism. Praise be to God.
