HOPE REMAINS

Hope Remains

The branch reaches out,

From the tree which is now barren,

Having survived the fall, and now

Much of winter.

No leaves remain,

And all were cleared from the ground,

Towards Santa Ana,

Which happens at this time of year.

Nevertheless,

The flower remains,

From a summer now long gone,

But not forgotten.

By the tree,

Or by God.
