The Safe Place
Here I go again,
Into my special Irish place,
Under the covers,
Away from the cold,
Where I am alone
With you.
Where the lights are out,
Where the darkness begins,
And at last,
I can pray.
My body now less important,
And the little pain I felt earlier,
Subsides for a while,
Or at least it feels that way.
Here, in my special room,
I hide from the noise of it all,
And meet you, Lord, in secret.
With just one agenda. To be And to love.
Now, still and unclothed of the world I experience the stillness.
Where the silence is without agenda,
And my intent is pure.
I can love.
