Can a tree be a saint?
waving those arms lovingly all day,
reaching upward, providing shelter,
fulfilling its created role, perfectly,
without decisions or complaints, just adoration.
Can I be a saint?

Sometimes we want to retreat into ourselves,
Not for peace, but because we are not brave.
when asked to lead, we wither as if a plant starved of water,
shriveling in a bright sun, “shouting don’t chose me”.
Reach deep today for that love God shows that you can lead others.
“Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh
and lead the children of Israel out of Egypt?”

Today, if you woke with a pain in your heart,
save it for another suffering more than you,
surely there are others who need to feel the closeness of God.
More than me, who knows Him well.
