The entire mystery of the Incarnation is within these words. He came from the Father, gave us The Word by being made Incarnate and The Word is our guide for our lives. Earthly things are merely transitory for us as well, it is better not to concentrate on the needs of the flesh, but those of the spirit and life.

The Eucharist is the gift that allows us to keep Christ in our present and daily lives. The grace which comes from this keeps the fire of Christ burning within us. If we do not partake, we are keeping an unnecessary distance from our Savior. This is his gift to us.
