John the Baptist burnt the light for Jesus’s coming mission. Now it is fulfilled that job falls to our hands. We must rise up and do his work each day.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 21 MARCH 2012
The love of God proceeds from the Father to the Son and in us daily through the Holy Spirit. The mystery of the Trinity is unfathomable. But we can recognize God’s triumphant and limitless love for us as he gave his Son to show us the light in our lives. We can do nothing without God and everything with him.

Jesus recognized those of us who need help. All we need to do is recognize that we do and have the faith to ask for it. The man immediately followed the instructions. He did not think, I cannot walk because I have been sick for 38 years. We need to enter through the narrow Sheep Gate and visit the Shepard when we are in need.
