REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 4 NOVEMBER 2011

This is a confusing parable. The master is dismisses the steward for squandering his property; but is this after he forgives debtors of his master for his own ends.

For me the parable speaks to using and sharing fairly the gifts of your own, or those under your care prudently and faithfully. There will be an accounting in the end. In this case the master congratulates the steward for his cleverness, but it was not borne out of charity. It was purely for his own ends.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 3 NOVEMBER 2011

I was lost once, not totally to God, but definitely not tracking close to him and the flock. I always thought that he found me, but the truth is, he never left.

He was with me all the time, right by my side, I was just ignoring him.

Truth is he never leaves, we just have to reach out and we will find him rejoicing on our return.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 2 NOVEMBER 2011

God gave us every example of how he wanted us to honor and love him. Then he died on the cross for our sins. All we have to do is follow him through a very narrow gate. He is the Shepard who will guide us through it.
