REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL AND READINGS 10 JULY 2012

In today’s world we are faced with much in the way of distractions, expectations and the promise of falsehoods. In an election year, perhaps even more so, as the air waves are full of false promises, deceptions and misdirection. Consider within ourselves for a few moments what leadership Jesus would want us provide, how he wants his laborers to labor and his shepherds to care for others.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 9 JULY 2012

Jesus wants us to help those on the margins on society and those who seem beyond help. Our society is sometimes supportive, and at other times we condemn those less fortunate. How can we help those in need, those who are marginalized today?

Gospel Mt 9:18-26

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 7 JULY 2012

We should question tradition if we are being asked to follow blindly without understanding. In today’s reading Jesus makes reference to the new time coming, and that as he spends time with his disciples this is not a time for “mourning or fasting”. He alludes to the New Covenant, where salvation will be revealed for all.
