Jesus again gives us the message that he wants us to be merciful to others, not just penitent for ourselves.

This reading seems rather harsh at first. Jesus does not have a place he can call home, as He is the Son of God. He expects followers to drop everything, and uses the important ritual of burying your own parents as an example of how much a commitment he wants from us. Let us reside in His presence today, understanding the Holy Spirit is with us at all times to guide us.
