REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 23 SEPTEMBER 2011

Peter’s response of “The Christ of God” shows how the scriptures will be fulfilled and that Jesus was truly the Christ, being of God. Knowing this was revealed to them, Jesus asks them to not tell others at this time.

There are times when we are also knowing of his love and want to tell others of it, when we must keep it to ourselves so that God’s work in others can be revealed to them personally.

Gospel Lk 9:18-22

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 18 SEPTEMBER 2011

Jesus tells us to be humble, welcoming and if we have power and resources in this world to use them wisely.

It is never too late for someone to come to the Lord and he welcomes all with the same price of admission. An open heart to receive his love and grace.

If we have the chance to know him longer we should be grateful. We should welcome others coming the faith, whenever they are called as our brothers and sisters. Just as if we were the father in the prodigal son.

REFLECTION ON THE DAILY GOSPEL 13 SEPTEMBER 2011

I can imagine this poor widow mourning the loss of her son.

A simple command from Jesus and he is returned to her. This act now proclaims God’s presence in Jesus in their words “God has visited his people”.

We need that visiting in both good and bad times. He will be there for us.
